Begin with a visit to the famous Mughal Gardens. Built by Emperor Jahangir, these gardens offer a majestic view of terraced lawns, cascading fountains, bright flowerbeds, and panoramic views of the Dal Lake. Visit Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh and other beautiful gardens located on the eastern bank of Dal Lake. These beautiful gardens boast of Mughal architecture and the lovely flowers and bushes that they house.
Next head to Chashme Shahi. Located in the Zabarwan mountain range near the Raj Bhawan, this garden overlooks the Dal Lake and offers mesmerising views of colourful flowers, sculpted fountains, natural springs and more. About 2 km. away from the garden is the Pari Mahal where Dara Shikoh used to learn astrology. This six terraced garden is also popularly known as ‘The Palace of Fairies’ for it looks straight out of a fairy tale.
In the evening, enjoy a 1-hour Shikara ride in Dal Lake. Soak in the scenic view of snow-covered mountains while relaxing during the ride.
Post this tiring day, return to your houseboat / hotel for dinner and a night stay.
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and leave for your excursion to Pahalgam. Pahalgam is a serene hill town located on the bank of the beautiful Lidder River. It attracts tourists with its scenic views, beautiful landscapes, meadows and activities like trekking, river rafting, fishing and more.
