ATTRACTION OF LADAKH: WANLA MONASTERY
Perched on the ridges of the Wanla hamlet, Wanla Monastery is also acclaimed as one of the holiest and well-preserved Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh. A multi-storeyed structure that is believed to have been constructed during 958-1055AD, this pious monastery has a three-storeyed temple dedicated to Avalokitesvara with eleven heads.
While visiting the monastery, visitors can also find the remains of a 12th century castle and a recently constructed building. In addition to its sanctity and scenic beauty, visitors also find the 4-5hours trek to reach this monastery, extremely enthralling and fascinating as well.
