Ladakh is a mystical land and its beauty is unmatchable. Sham Valley at Ladakh is also known as the trek for a beginner of the region. It takes you through the Sham village and lower regions of Ladakh. This is the place to experience the culture and lifestyle of the region. Yes, not to forget the beautiful scenery of the Himalayan mountains.
Nubra Valley is yet another magical destination of Ladakh. It is known as the Orchard of Ladakh and is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. You must visit the valley for its picturesque beauty.
Pangong lake is considered to be the longest lake in India. The lake is so huge that the other half of it is located in China.
Tso Moriri Lake in Ladakh attracts a range of wildlife. There are many migratory birds, marmots and also Tibetan wolves there. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful, peaceful, holy and high-altitude lakes of India.
Upon your arrival at Leh airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will accompany you to your hotel. Once you finish the check-in procedure and are well-rested, you can move out to explore the town.
The bazaar of Leh boasts of jewellery, Tibetan handicrafts and Pashmina Shawls. You can go visit the market and buy some souvenirs to take back home. Later, you can take a quiet walk in the evening and return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
You will start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel and then leave for your day tour of Sham Valley.
Your first sightseeing destination for the day will be The Gurudwara Pather Sahib. This holy gurudwara was constructed in memory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It houses a holy rock that resembles the back of Guru Nanak Ji. Devotees of Guru Nanak come to the gurudwara from all around the world to seek his blessings. Your next checkpoint will be at the Magnetic Hills. This place is very renowned for its unique feature. This hill is a cyclops hill. The vehicles here do not go downwards but move upwards. Yes, this actually happens and to witness this miracle you must visit Magnetic Hills. The next stop is at the Confluences of Zanskar and Indus. This is the exact point where these two rivers meet. The colour of Indus is green and that of Zanskar is blue, the fusion of these two colours at this very point is a sight to witness. You will also visit Alchi Gompa. This place is a huge complex that houses various Buddhist temples. Out of which, the Alchi Monastery is the oldest. You must visit this monastery for its beautiful architecture. Your last stop is at Ladakh Hall of Fame. Here you will meet the real heroes of India. This is a museum that was built in memory of the brave Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for India during the Indo-Pak war.
Post this day tour, you will return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
On Day 3, you will be taking a road trip from Leh to Nubra Valley. You will reach Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass, the highest motorable road. At Khardungla you can also take a camel ride if you wish to. Do not forget to click some beautiful pictures of the snow-covered mountain peaks surrounding you. So, have an early breakfast and leave for your road trip to Nubra Valley.
Once you arrive in Nubra Valley check in to your hotel and after taking some rest, leave for your sightseeing tour.
On your sightseeing tour, the first destination you will visit is Diskit Monastery. It is the oldest monastery in the valley, which belongs to the Gelugpa sect. It is also known as Diskit Gompa and many tourists come here to adore its architecture and also seek some spiritual help. The next destination for you is Hunder Village. The village is considered a cold desert and is renowned for its sand dunes. Also, the highlight of this village is the Bactrian camel ride and trekking spot. Your last checkpoint for the day is the Panamik Hot Springs. The spring has medicinal properties and hence you would require a permit to visit it.
After this fun-filled day, head back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After early morning breakfast at the hotel, you will be taking a road trip to Pangong Lake via Shayok River. Shayok River originates from the high altitudes of Rimo Glacier. The water of the lake is so clear that you can see right through it. When the sun shines over the clear blue water, it feels like it is covered with crystals. You can spend some time at the lake and feel relaxed.
Post this, you will continue your road trip and head to Pangong Lake. You will be camping at Pangong Lake, so once you reach your campsite, get settled in and take some rest. By evening, you can enjoy your leisure time exploring the lake and its beautiful surroundings. At night, enjoy a steaming hot dinner and an overnight stay at the campsite.
Begin your day with breakfast at the campsite and then get ready to leave for Leh. Once you reach your hotel in Leh, complete the check-in formalities and then take some rest before you begin your sightseeing tour.
The first tourist attraction you will visit in Leh will be the Thiksey Monastery. Just like the other monasteries of Ladakh, the Tibetan architecture of this monastery is also awe-inspiring. The Gompa also houses the Maitreya Temple, which has a 15-metre-high Buddha statue. Later, you will be visiting the much acclaimed and very famous Rancho’s School. Yes, we are referring to the same school that was a part of the climax of the movie 3 Idiots. The name of the school however is Druk Padma Karpo School but is famous for the name 3 Idiots School. Later, you can head back to your hotel for dinner and a night stay.
After a healthy breakfast at the hotel, you will be taking yet another road trip from Leh to Tso Moriri. On the way to Tso Moriri, you will visit Chumathang. The place is famous for its hot Sulphur spring, which evolves from the ground near the river Indus.
Upon your arrival in Tso Moriri, you will check into your hotel or guest house and then leave for your sightseeing tour. The first destination you will visit is Tso Moriri. It is the largest high-altitude lake in the country and is accessible only during the season of summer. The lake offers a scenic view of the snow-capped mountains surrounding it. It is around 7kilometres wide at its broadest point and about 19kilometres long. However, you cannot have a campsite at this lake because it falls under the Tso Moriri Wetland Conservation Reserve. You will find a large number of flora and fauna at the lake.
Post this tiring day, head back to your hotel for dinner and a night stay.
You will be leaving for Leh today, so have an early breakfast and keep your luggage packed to leave after your meal. Once you reach Leh, complete the check-in formalities. You have the day to yourself for leisure activities, shopping or sightseeing.
At night, get back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
