2. ATMs in Ladakh:

While on your Leh Ladakh itinerary for 5 days, you can find a number of ATMs in and around Leh city. Among these, you may find SBI ATMs in highest numbers. Other banks that have their ATM include: HDFC Bank, Punjab National Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, J&K Bank, and Canara Bank.

While driving or riding along the Manali-Leh Highway, you would find the last ATM in Keylong. However, the functioning of the ATM could be a concern depending on weather and connectivity conditions.

Besides, we would suggest you to keep enough cash in order to avoid any unpleasant condition. As weather can go extreme during your Leh Ladakh itinerary for 5 days, it could happen that most of the ATMs won’t function. Hence, maintaining cash limit would come handy for you under all conditions.

3. Mobile Connectivity in Ladakh:

Only post-paid SIM cards work in Ladakh; prepaid SIMs won’t work here.

Foreign SIM cards also won’t work in Ladakh even though they are ‘International Roaming’ enabled.

Visitors can buy local prepaid SIM cards by submitting required ID proofs and other Government approved ID cards.

Mostly BSNL, Jio and Airtel prepaid SIM cards are available in Ladakh.

4. Network Connectivity & Internet:

• BSNL Connection: Works decently in and around Leh circle. However, you may face weak signal or less browsing speed as you traverse outside the main city.
• Airtel: You would find it dependable within Leh city and other adjoining areas. It offers 4G internet connectivity with internet speed fluctuating based on your location. In some places, the connectivity might go down to 2G or 3G.
• Jio: This provider also offers 4G connectivity with decent browsing speed. It has 4G coverage all along the Leh city and its nearby areas.
