Festivity begins with the Head Lama of Hemis Monastery commemorating the birth of the Guru by carrying his portrait to the main courtyard of the monastery. How to Reach Leh

By Road:

A roadway journey is in fact the most enthralling ways to reach Leh! Buses and taxis are available from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir; visitors can opt for any of these options to reach their dream destination through Jammu and Kashmir or through the towering Rohtang La Pass. Jeep safaris and motorcycle expeditions are also popular among the visitors.

By Train:

Pathankot serves as the nearest railway station to Leh. After arriving at the station, visitors can hire private taxis, cabs or SUVs to reach Leh. Visitors can also board any of the regular buses from Manali to reach Leh.

By Air:
