ATTRACTION OF LADAKH: CHANG LA PASS

Permissions to Visit Chang La Pass

Indians do not require any permission to visit Chang La Pass. However, foreign national must acquire the Protected Area Permit (PAP)from DC Office in Leh while visiting this magnificent pass. Also, valid ID proof is a must for all the visitors; whether national or international.

Best Time to Visit Chang La Pass

Due to heavy snowfall during the winters, the pass remains closed from October to May. Once it reopens, visitors can make it to pass and enjoy some of the most enchanting views of Leh Ladakh region from its peaks point.

Places to Eat Near Chang La Pass

Along the way to the pass, there are only a handful of tea shops that serve only tea and biscuits. It is advisable to carry drinking water and food items while visiting the Chang La Pass in Ladakh.
