The way to Kargil via Sonamarg is truly breathtaking. It will greet you with snow-covered mountains, picturesque landscapes, sprawling meadows adorned with colourful wildflowers, and glistening streams. In Sonamarg, you can stop over to explore prominent places like Vishansar Lake, Shutkari Bridge and take a drive around the Zoji La Pass.
Later, you will continue your road trip to Kargil. En route to Kargil, you can explore Drass Valley, the historic location where the Kargil War took place. Also, visit the Kargil War Museum at Drass.

Enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding mountain ranges as you travel towards Nubra Valley. En route visit Diskit Monastery, the oldest and largest Gompa in Nubra Valley. The gompa is known for its beautiful architecture, intricate frescos and wall paintings.
On reaching Nubra Valley, head to Hunder village for an adventurous ride of the two-humped Bactrian Camel or opt for Quad biking. Also, explore the village and interact with the locals to get familiar with the local culture.
Head back to Nubra Valley and enjoy an overnight stay at the camp.
Have early morning breakfast at the camp in Nubra Valley and prepare to take a road trip to Pangong via Shayok River.
The Shayok River is renowned for its exceptionally clear waters, characterized by a stunning turquoise hue owing to its glacial origins and mineral content. The water is so crystal clear that you can literally see right through it.
Continue your drive to Pangong Lake. The 100 km plus stretch of the lake spans across China, India and Tibet, captivating with its surreal blue and green hues changing with the sunlight. It is surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks that add to the already existing charm of the lake.
Pangong Lake is popular for its appearance in several movies. You may spend time with your loved one at the lake, take an evening walk and explore the surroundings as you like.
