Gurez Valley experiences harsh winters with heavy snowfall. The average temperature during peak winters drops down to – 20°C and the maximum temperature goes up to 15°C. The nights become extremely cold.
During winters, Razdan Pass receives heavy snowfall and hence it remains shut for 6 months in a year including in this season. Since the pass leading up to Gurez Valley remains closed in winter, the only way to reach here is by taking a Helicopter from Srinagar or Bandipora.

However, since the region is located at higher altitudes, evenings and nights are mostly cool.

It typically remains hot during the day and pleasant or slightly cold at night. You can expect cool temperatures and occasional rain showers.
