Srinagar in Kashmir does not have a railway station and the closest is the Jammu Tawi Railway Station, approximately 300kms from Srinagar. The train connectivity however at Jammu is efficient and connects to almost all major cities of India. Getting down at Jammu railway station, you can take a cab or bus to reach Srinagar or any other place in Kashmir.

By Air – The fastest and most comfortable way to reach Kashmir in September is by air. Srinagar has its airport (Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport) located at a distance of approximately 10kms from the city centre. The airport is well connected to the other states and cities of India – Chandigarh, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Kolkata with direct and connected flights. From the airport, you can get a taxi to take you to your desired destination in Kashmir.
