There are four famous Mughal Gardens in Srinagar namely Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, Chashme Shahi and Pari Mahal. Most of these gardens overlook the shining waters of Dal Lake. These gardens are said to be the “Crown of Srinagar” and in the bygone era, they were restricted for the king and queen to spend quality time. These Mughal Gardens are heavily influenced by the Persian style of architecture and hence you will find beautiful walkways, fountains, canals, pools of running water and colourful flowers and trees. Rejuvenate yourself by taking a walk around these gardens and learning more about the Mughal era and its history.
Later, enjoy a relaxing 1 hour Shikara ride in Dal Lake. This ride will rejuvenate you and you will be able to enjoy the majestic views of the mountains around from the Shikara. Also, do not forget to notice the beautiful carpet of lotus flowers spread all over Dal Lake.
Post this tiring day, you will be heading back to your houseboat or hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After a healthy and delicious breakfast at the hotel or houseboat, you will be heading out for a day tour to Yusmarg.
Yusmarg is popularly crowned as the ‘Meadow of Jesus’ as it is believed that Jesus passed through this valley while travelling to Kashmir with the chosen people of the lord. This picturesque destination is loved by every tourist for its natural beauty, adventurous trekking trails, lush meadows, foaming river, Dudhganga and trout fishing opportunities. It is a perfect getaway for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. The place is home to some of the highest peaks in the Pir Panjal range.
In Yusmarg, you will first visit Doodh Ganga. It is a gorgeous river known for its milky coloured water. There is a good population of trout fishes in the river and hence it is considered one of the best angling and fishing destinations in Kashmir. You can easily reach here by walking or can also prefer horse ride at your own cost.
Next visit a high-altitude lake, Nilnag Lake nestled amidst a dense pine forest. The crystal clear blue water of this glittering lake and the picturesque surroundings of towering pine trees and snow-covered mountains make it worth every visit. Adventure lovers can opt to take a short 4 km to reach here. The trekking trail goes through a picturesque pine forest through which run many streams of water lending it an eye-pleasing sight.
Optionally, you also take a full day trek from Yusmarg to Frozen Lake in Sang-e-Safed valley. Popularly known as ‘White Rocks’, it is an oval-shaped meadow bisected by the Doodh Ganga stream. It is a well-known picnic spot and you can enjoy the colourful meadows around the valley. The Frozen Lake is usually covered under icebergs throughout the year.
In the evening return back to Srinagar. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Today you will be taking a day tour of Doodhpathri. It will be a road trip, so you can enjoy the amazing view of the hills. The drive will begin after a healthy breakfast at the hotel.
It is a recently developed beautiful tourist destination and a hill station located in the Budgam district. Doodhpathri translates to ’Valley of Milk’. The place derives its name from the fact that the area is rich in the production of milk. It is interesting to note that the water which flows through the meadows here has a milky appearance from the distance and remains very cold throughout the year.
The place is known for its lush green grasses over the vast meadows, beautiful river, pristine environment and silver shining streams. A walk around will help you soak in the view of sloping grassy landscapes with a diversity of multicolour flowers.
The day is at leisure so you can spend it the way you want. Explore the valley on your own and get involved in its scenic charm. The main attraction of Doodhpathri is Tangnar, Mujpather, Dophkhal, Sochilpather, Palmaidan and Parihas tourist spots.
This brings you to the end of your day, it is time to make your way back to Srinagar. A delicious dinner meal and some good night’s sleep are waiting for you.
Begin your day with a healthy breakfast at the hotel. Post breakfast, you can head for a day excursion to Aharbal.
Aharbal is a popular destination for adventure tourism and emerging as a major tourist attraction. It is an ideal destination not just for adventure enthusiasts, but also loved by nature lovers, trekkers and avid photographers.
The sheer magnificence of Aharbal, located on the River Veshav is a sight to behold. The place is rightly crowned as ‘Niagara falls of Kashmir’ owing to its stunning and huge waterfall. You can directly reach up to the edge of the fall which is formed by hard granite boulders.
A walk around will let you experience the beautiful landscapes, abutting snow-clad mountains, coniferous trees, gushing azure blue waterfall, lush green hillside and colourful Orchids. Trout fishing is yet another activity to keep you entertained. Aharbal is also famous for trekking expeditions.
Later, head back to Srinagar and return to the hotel to enjoy your dinner and overnight stay.
